Jessie Tierney, E-RYT

E-RYT200Jessie currently teaches All Levels Hatha Yoga at Sedro Woolley Physical Therapy, Back Care Yoga at the Sedro Woolley Center for Holistic Wellness, and Hayloft Yoga at Double S Quarter Horses.  She also organizes the Skagit Yoga Community and is committed to making yoga accessible and available in the community.

Jessie is a is a 200-Hour Yoga Alliance Experienced & Registered Yoga Teacher, a graduate of the Shambhava School of Yoga’s Level I, II and III Yoga Teacher Trainings.  She is en route to Physical Therapy school, where she intends to integrate the ancient science of yoga with modern western medicine for a holistic approach to healing.

  • Jessie taught a series of Kids Yoga classes to patients at Valley Kids Therapy
  • Jessie teaches Hayloft Yoga, a practice for equine enthusiasts, at Double S Quarter Horses in Bow, WA
  • During her tenure as a pre-Physical Therapy student, Jessie was part-time faculty at Western Washington University, where she taught credit-bearing Beginning Yoga and Intermediate Yoga courses to undergraduate students
  • Jessie offers a variety of yoga workshops
  • Jessie guides Horseback Yoga in and around the Skagit Valley.
  • Jessie co-organizes the Skagit Yoga Community & the Skagit Yoga Teachers Community, uniting practitioners & teachers for community events.
  • Jessie has taught alignment-based therapeutic hatha yoga to rehabilitation patients at Sedro Woolley Physical Therapy, as well as a Wellness Yoga class for general wellbeing.
  • Jessie taught Restorative Yoga and Aerial Yoga in a studio setting at Quantum Health & Yoga Lounge in Burlington, WA
  • Jessie led Horseback Yoga 4- and 5-day pack trips with young adults at Sanborn Western Camps, integrating technical riding skills with yoga concepts to deepen the horse-human connection and build confidence in both parties in the summer of 2011
  • Jessie co-taught a weekly class geared toward college students and office workers called Yoga For Nerds at Treetop Yoga Studio in 2011 in Fort Collins, CO
  • Jessie taught Foundations of Yoga on Thursday evenings at My Mini Om from December 2010 until March 2011 in Fort Collins, CO
  • Jessie taught integrative yoga in an outdoor setting to 4th-8th grade children from 2009-2010 at the High Trails Outdoor Education Center in Florissant, CO
  • In the summers of 2009-2011, Jessie taught a style of horseback riding derived from her yoga background she calls Horseback Yoga, at Sanborn Western Camps, Florissant, CO
  • In August, 2010, Jessie was the NewHomA Mountain Music Festival’s Featured Yoga Instructor, where she guided integrative yoga hikes into the Pikes Peak foothills
  • Over the winter of 2009-10, Jessie taught Yoga Classes at The Nature Place Conference & Retreat Center in Florissant CO

“I have been a student of Jessie’s since the beginning of this calendar year (2014). I was new to yoga, never once having experienced anything remotely close to this type of exercise. I had been recently diagnosed with a severe form of stenosis (arthritis) in the lumbar area of my back, shortly following caring for my mother who had just passed away.  I was in horrible pain 24 hours a day, and in a rather fragile emotional state.

When I first started Jessie’s class, the pain relief lasted an entire week, and my emotional state was lifted enormously!!!  My condition is slowly healing as much as my body is able, with several classes a week under Jessie’s instruction.
